TATTOO AFTERCARES
SECOND SKIN:
This is my favourite way of healing a tattoo.
A piece of second skin was applied on your fresh tattoo. This material is made so the tattoo can breathe and is also waterproof so you don't need to be extra careful in the shower. It will retain any plasma, ink and blood coming out of your tattoo, protecting your favourite shirt and bedsheets...
-Keep the second skin on for 5 days.
-Then, peel it off (can be done under running water for a little extra help).
-Wash it really good with colder water and an unscented soap (such as Ivory/Dove).
-Rinse and pat dry with a paper towel.
-You can now start applying moisturizer (fragrance free) 2-3 times a day.
-Your tattoo will peel, kinda like a sunburn. Avoid picking at it or scrating it.
-Keep your tattoo clean and moisturized until completely healed (2-4 weeks).
-Avoid SUN, CHLORINE AND SALT WATER for at least 30 days.
OLD SCHOOL METHOD
-Keep the bandage/wrap on for the evening.
-At bedtime, wash your tattoo with cold water and unscented soap.
-Pat dry with paper towel. Do not apply any lotion at this point.
-Wash it again in the morning with cold water and unscented soap.
-Pat dry and moisturize with unscented lotion.
-Wash it twice daily, with cold water and moisturize 3-4 times daily.
-Avoid hot water for the first 7 days to avoid infections.
-DO NOT TOUCH YOUR TATTOO unless its for cleaning or moisturizing.
-Don't scratch it or pick at it.
-Keep moisturizing it until healed (2-4 weeks)
-Avoid Sun, chlorine and salt water for at least 30 days.
